Submit or request reviews

Review subcontractors yourself, or collect reviews from your colleagues.

Everything you know about your subcontractors in one place, instead of in many heads.

How a subcontractor performed on site is usually known by site management. How the commercial side went is known by purchasing. At the next award decision, that knowledge is often missing. In Cosuno you capture it in a structured way and actively collect it from the people who have it.

Reviews in Cosuno give you the following benefits:

  • Better award decisions: You can see how a subcontractor performed before you invite or award them again.

  • Less chasing: Instead of emailing colleagues one by one, you send review requests from Cosuno. Reminders are sent automatically.

  • Several perspectives on one company: Site management and purchasing review the same collaboration separately, combined into one overall rating.

Note: Reviews are only visible inside your own company. Subcontractors see neither the stars nor the comments, and are not informed that they have been reviewed.

Where to find reviews

There are two entry points:

  • Via Network, in a subcontractor's profile under the Review tab. Here you see all reviews of this company across all projects.

  • Via a project, under the Review tab. Here you see the reviews for the bid packages of that project.

Who can review: By default, managers and administrators can write and request reviews. Your administrator can adjust this per role under My company > Permissions. All users in your company can view submitted reviews.

Write a review yourself

  1. In the Review tab, click Write a review.

  2. In the Set up your review dialog, link the review to a bid package. You can choose from the bid packages this subcontractor was at least invited to.

  3. Select a review template (add-on only, see below).

  4. Rate every review criterion from one to five stars.

  5. Click Submit review.

  • Can't rate: Mark criteria you cannot judge as Can't rate. They are excluded from the overall rating.

  • Comments: A comment is optional, but mandatory at two stars or fewer so that low ratings stay comprehensible.

  • At least one criterion must be rated.

Note: Submitted reviews are final. They cannot be edited, withdrawn or resubmitted, so that results cannot be changed after the fact. There is exactly one review per person, bid package and template.

Independent reviews

Do you want to review a collaboration that does not exist as a bid package in Cosuno, for example a project from before you used Cosuno, or work outside your tenders? Switch to Independent in the Set up your review dialog and give it your own name under Name your review.

Independent reviews are created from the subcontractor profile. They are not available in a project's Review tab, because reviews there are always based on a bid package.

Request reviews from colleagues

  1. In the Review tab, click Request reviews.

  2. Select the bid package, or an independent review.

  3. Select one or more review templates (several only with the add-on).

  4. In the Select reviewers step, choose who should receive the request. All active users in your company are available.

  5. Click Send request.

The people you selected receive an email and a notification in Cosuno with the action Complete your review, which opens the review form directly. Anyone who does not respond is reminded automatically after 10 and after 15 days.

Note: People who have already submitted a review for this bid package and template cannot be requested again and are disabled in the selection.

Set a review order

Add-on: Advanced bidder reviews. Sequential requests are part of the add-on.

By default all requests go out at the same time. If your process requires an order, for example site management first and purchasing afterwards, enable Set review order in the Select reviewers step and assign a position to each reviewer.

  • Only the first position is notified initially.

  • As soon as all reviewers in one position have submitted, the next position is notified automatically.

  • In the results, the status Waiting on X users shows that a request has not been sent yet.

Note: So that a sequential process does not get stuck on one person, a review is skipped 25 days after the request if it has not been submitted by then. All criteria count as Can't rate, the review has no score and does not count towards the overall rating. It stays visible in the results so you can see who did not act on their requests.

Read the review results

At the top of the Review tab you see the subcontractor's overall rating, the number of reviewed objects and, expandable, the breakdown per review criterion. It lists every criterion with at least one rating.

Below that you find one row per reviewed object, with project, bid package or name of the independent review, status, average and number of reviews. Expand a row to see the individual reviews:

  • Reviews are grouped by review template.

  • Each row shows the reviewer, the date, the total for that review, and the stars and comments per criterion.

  • Criteria marked Can't rate appear as and are excluded from the calculation.

  • Open requests appear as their own row with Requested on or Waiting on X users. If the request is yours, you find the Complete your review action here.

How the overall rating is calculated

Cosuno calculates in four steps, each as an unweighted average:

  1. The stars given for the review criteria produce the value of a single review.

  2. All reviews using one template produce the value of that template.

  3. All templates produce the rating of the object, meaning the bid package or independent review.

  4. All objects produce the overall rating of the company.

All templates count equally. Criteria marked Can't rate are excluded at every step.

Request reviews from another system

Review requests can also be triggered from a connected system, for example when work is accepted or a final invoice is approved there, and review results can be read out the same way. Get in touch if you would like to use this.

What happens to your existing ratings?

All ratings your company submitted so far are preserved and appear in the new structure. You do not need to transfer anything.
